Contemporary Worship Service

We gather for worship each Sunday for a contemporary service at 8:30 a.m. This is a time to praise, pray for, and ponder God's awesome power through contemporary songs and uplifting messages in a casual setting.

Traditional Worship Service

We gather for worship each Sunday for a traditional service at 10:50 a.m. Most of the 10:50 services have a traditional format; however, from time to time this worship may be more contemporary in format. Otterbein United Methodist Church makes use of drama, contemporary music, liturgical dance and personal testimonies to create a meaningful worship experience.
Holy Communion is celebrated during Worship on the first Sunday of each month.

Throughout the year, Otterbein United Methodist Church holds several special worship services, especially during the Christmas and Easter seasons.

Nursery Care for children aged birth to 5 years is available each Sunday upstairs in the children's department.

Children's Worship - Children are welcome in worship at Otterbein United Methodist Church! We also have a special children's message. Junior church, for children in grades K-5 is held on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.

Assistive Listening Devices are available for those worshipers who may have trouble hearing the service. Please see an usher for assistance.

The Altar Guild is responsible for the symbols used in worship and the decorations in the sanctuary. Flowers are placed in the sanctuary each week in honor or memory of church members. A rosebud is placed on the altar to celebrate the birth of children of church members.

Weddings - All weddings must be approved by the pastor and scheduled with the church office at 304-263-0342 or by e-mail at   A wedding planner handbook is available from the church office to help in planning the special day.

Music At Otterbein UMC

The Adult Choir sings during the traditional worship service on Sunday mornings at 10:50 a.m. and practices on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. The choir sings a variety of traditional and contemporary hymns, choruses, and anthems during Sunday worship and special programs throughout the year.
Ross Hudson is the Adult Choir Director.

The Children's Choir sings in worship occasionally.
Guest musicians provide special music each Sunday during the summer months and at various times throughout the year.
