BLESSING BOX

Otterbein’s new Blessing Box has already helped so many people in our community. But, did you know that you can donate to the box anytime? There’s a sign on front of the box that says Take what you need, leave what you can. You don’t have to attend Otterbein to give. If you’d like to contribute to helping the homeless and others struggling to make ends meet, simply leave any of the items listed below:
· Non-perishable foods, individually sized, and easy open such as: granola or snack bars, applesauce cups, tuna pouches, packages of peanuts or crackers, juice boxes, etc. Nothing in cans, bottles, or jars, or that requires cooking.
· Personal hygiene items, including hotel-sized bottles such as: toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, mouthwash, toothbrushes, combs, deodorant, etc.
· Toilet Paper
· Personal or baby wipes
· Paper towels
· Socks
· Hats and gloves
· Hand warmers

ASBURY METHODIST VILLAGE STAMP PROGRAM
Postage stamps cut from home or business mail are collected and sent to Asbury Methodist Village in Gaithersburg, MD.  A private stamp collector then purchases the collected stamps from Asbury.  The money from the stamp sales goes to the Benevolent Fund for Asbury Residents.  The Benevolent fund is used to buy eyeglasses, dentures, and other essentials for residents who do not have the funds for needed items.
Postage stamps are trimmed and packed by residents providing physical therapy and socialization for the residents.

LIONS CLUB
Old Eyeglasses are collected and given to the Lions Club who helps people get the necessary vision help they need.

RED BIRD MISSION
Box Tops for Education clipped from grocery store products are sent to the Red Bird Mission in Kentucky.  The Red Bird Mission helps the under-served in the area with educational needs.

BOARD OF CHILDCARE
Campbell soup labels are used by the Board of Childcare Auxiliary to purchase "little extras" for the 1,700 children they care for.  The Auxiliary acts like the parent missing from the children's' lives.

RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
Otterbein supports Ronald McDonald Houses by collecting soda tabs.  Ronald McDonald Houses provide a place for families of ill children to stay near treatment hospitals.  The money from soda tab recycling supports these houses.
